Looks like John Carpenter and Nicholas Cage are teaming up for a prison thriller.
“Scared Straight follows a troubled youth who’s sent to prison off the Scared Straight crime-prevention program, which imprisons delinquent teens for a short period in the hopes of deterring them from a life of crime. While the teen is there, a riot breaks out and the prisoners take him hostage. A lifer, played by Cage, is forced to help the young man out.”
Sounds like ample room for Cage to stretch those acting chops, as we all witnessed in the amazing Ghost Rider. He was like, totally on. Three-quarter Elvis mode and a motorcycle. But what really impressed us was when his face would catch on fire and burn him to a talking skull. Man, the dude’s got chops, huh?
Look, all we can ask is that it holds up to his performance in Con Air. Man, that was some good shit right there.

I dig burning skulls. And his performance in Con Air was very good. For a while, I enjoyed him in movies. Not so much anymore.
